The Infernal Meal
A gentleman having entered a room in order to partake of a matutinal repast seats himself before a table, but no sooner has he done so tan to his horror he finds the table bewitched. As soon as he has found the soup tureen, he sees a spirit spring out of it, fall down and disappear through the floor. Our diner now attempts to cut the contents of the dish, but cuts the table instead, which then falls to pieces. No sooner however, are the pieces put together again than it takes itself to the other side of the room while the table cloth falls to the ground. At last the table jumps upon his back, and is evidently not satisfied until it has summarily ejected the unfortunate diner through the doorway. As soon as he is outside the table, now properly served and laid out, at once assumes its accustomed position. The mystifying spirit now reappears, leaps into the soup tureen, and finally disappears in a cloud of smoke.
A diabolical dinner
A traveller has hardly sat down to dine, when an imp appears and bewitches the table and eatables. - It first divides into half, just as the diner is about to sit down, and afterwards flies about in the room in a most bewildering manner, utterly disconcerting the hungry traveller. – It ultimately turns a complete somersault, them flies up to the ceiling and hits him on the back of the head, when he gives up the contest and seeks another restaurant. – The imp then disappears with the table in a cloud of smoke.

Comida infernal
Un individuo se sienta a la mesa y se dispone a comer. Al destapar la sopera surge de ella un genio infernal y desaparece por el suelo. Se dispone a cortar el bifteack y corta la mesa; ésta reconstituida se va al otro extremo dejando el cubierto en el suelo. Por último la mesa le salta sobre la espalda y a empujones lo echa del comedor. Una vez fuera el genio mistificador vuelve, salta en la sopera y desaparece en humo.
