The Cinographoscope (Imperial Hotel, <24 septembre 1896)
Une séance de cinographoscope est organisée à l'Imperial Hotel en septembre :
THE CINOGRAPHOSCOPE.— One of the spacious rooms of the Imperial Hotel, Queen’s Road, has been set apart for an exhibition of the Cinographoscope. This comparatively recent invention Is claimed to be superior to the Cinomatograph [sic], in that in pictures from real life which are thrown upon the screen the figures and objects are made to move backward as well forward. In a picture of the Place I’Opera, Paris, for instance, which is one of the series shown, one sees the pedestrians and carriage folk moving all directions, and, afterwards, they are shown walking and driving backwards —a curious sight. A horse is also to be seen prancing backwards well forwards, whilst other pictures of interesting and attractive description are “ Soldiers taking their horses to water,” The sea and the rocks,” "A card party,” &c., in each of which figures and objects seem as if really alive. The exhibition is most entertaining. Shows are held each day from two o’clock till eleven o’clock. The charge for admission is moderate.

1902
Les Animated Photographs de la Maskelyne and Cooke's Regional Company (septembre 1902)
La Maskelyne and Cooke's Regional Company organise des spectacles en Grande-Bretagne depuis juillet 1899. David Devant en est le responsable et il accompagne la troupe. L'équipe vient de donner des séances pendant une semaine à Folkestone. À Brighton, les spectacles ont lieu, pendant quatre semaines, au Concert Hall, à partir du 29 septembre 1902.
Malgré une présence particulièrement longue et assez inhabituelle, nous n'avons aucune autre information concernant la programmation de vues animées, à l'exception de The Coronation Procession, tournée à l'occasion du couronnement du roi Edouard VII, le 9 août 1902. La troupe se rend ensuite à Bournemouth.
1903
The Aquarium Cinematograph d'H. Spencer Clarke (mai 1903)
H. Spencer Clarke, dont les représentations ont eu tendance à se raréfier au cours des dernières années, se retrouve dans une salle de l'Aquarium de Brighton. pour quelques soirées :

The first part of the programme was brought to a conclusion by a burlesque on "The Cake Walk," in which the corner men took part with success. The second part is fully diversified. Ethiopian specialities being given by Harry Reynolds, Carl Moneta, Harry Gilmore, Squire Wyndham, and Carl St. Clare. The Aquarium Cinematograph, under the manipulation of Mr. Spencer Clarke, projects an excellent series of pictures, including a series of "The Stock Exchange Walk."

Le film The Stock Exchange Walk fait directement référence à une course à pied qui s'est déroulée entre Londres et Brighton, le 1er mai 1903, et dont l'arrivée a lieu, précisément à l'Aquarium. Il est probable que H. Spencer Clarke figure au nombre des opérateurs qui sont juchés sur le toit de l'établissement.

1904

À l'automne 1904, David Devant est de retour à Brighton. La troupe qu'il dirige vient de donner quelques soirées à Clifton. À Brighton, l'inauguration a lieu le lundi 17 octobre 1904, au Concert Hall.

Si les vues animées font partie du spectacle, elles ne sont pas toujours annoncées, car les films ne constituent pas l'essentiel du spectacle. Après presque un mois, la dernière a lieu le samedi 12 novembre 1904. Les artistes quittent Brighton pour se rendre à Oxford.
