Considering the great rush of business at Messrs. L. Gaumont’s establishment in Cecil Court during the past week, in consequence of their successful treatment of one of the longest films ever issued in “The Blacksmith’s Daughter,’’ it is gratifying both to themselves and their customers to know that, although the sale of the above picture-novel absorbed the attention of the greater portion of the staff, it did not interfere in any way with the ordinary every-day business, and usual customers were served with that courteous and obliging return-of-post-or-train system which has ever one of Gaumont's stock subjects. This happy state of affairs was brought about by Mr. Bromhead, whose ever-watchful eye and judgment had foreseen the rush for this film, and had considerably augmented his staff to cope with any emergency. |
