Macaroni Competition

Two young men "from the country" have been boasting together of their powers of voracity, each claiming that he can eat more and eat faster than the other. They ultimately decide to put the disputed question to the test of actual trial, and sit down together to two dishes containing an equal supply of cooked macaroni. Commencing with forks, which are soon relinquished in favour of the proverbial precreated fingers, they cram the supple tubes into their mouths with astonishing rapidity. The scene is intensely comical and amusing.
