View From an Engine Front. Through a Double Tunnel
This is something of a novelty in "Phantom Rides," and it is a peculiarly effective and interesting tunnel picture. It opens with the train from which it is taken leaving a station and traversing the distance between that and the nearest tunnel which is rapidly approached and entered. The spot of light which betokens the other end of the tunnel is seen for a long time beforehand, and gradually grows larger. Then the engine dashes out of the tunnel, but only to immediately enter another one just beyond. This is a somewhat longer tunnel, but the other end of it soon appears and the picture finishes some time after the tunnel is left far behind. (Taken from a special engine furnished by the London & South Western Railway Co.)
