Walking the Greasy Pole
This is a similar subject to the above, but taken from an entirely different point of view. The photograph is taken from the shore, looking out across the river, and the figures are seen very much larger, in their frantic struggles to walk the pole. Here again there are many gallant attempts to reach the coveted goal, but they all result in a ducking of a more or less grotesque character.
