Les origines (1859-1895)

Cyr, Jacques Boivin exerce la profession de culottier, à Paris, à la naissance de son fils Eugène, Denis. Ce dernier, né à Paris, figure comme négociant, lorsqu'il épouse Clémence Bercher. Leurs enfants vont naître dans la capitale, Eugène en 1856 et Georges en 1859.

 

Le couple et ses enfants, dont Georges Boivin, s'installent vers 1882 en Australie. Georges et Clémence embarquen

 

C'est en 1882 que le couple part s'installer en Australie où Clémence ouvre un atelier de couture.

At the Central Police Court yesterday, the four Frenchmen, Giovanni Battista, alias Clerec Angelo, Louis Edouard Logue, alias Albert Logue, Jean Dominique Spadous, alias Charles Jules, and Boivin Georges, alias George Ferdinand Boivin, on remand, again appeared, charged with the larceny at a boat, the property of the Governor of New Caledonia. Paul Louis Bigeire, military warder of the first class at New Caledonia, identified the accused, and gave evidence to the effect that the men were illegally at large from New Caledonia. A number of official papers bearing on the case were produced. The accused were ordered to be detained in the Brisbane Geol for a period of fifteen days, during which time they may make appeal to the Supreme Court to have the order rescinded. At the end of that period, however, providing there is no appeal, they will be handed over to the French authorities, and taken back to New Caledonia.The Brisbane Courier, Brisbane, samedi 10 juillet 1897, p. 4.

French Escapees.
At the City Police Coart on Friday before Messrs. P. Pinnock, P.M., and D. Gal way, J.P., Giovanni Battista, alias Clere Angelo, Louis Edouard Logue, alias Albert Logue, Jean Dominique Spadous, alias Charles Jules, and Boivin Georges, alias George Ferdinand Boivin, four escapees from New Caledonia, were brought up on remand, and after official evidence had been given by a warder from the penal establishment, the bench ordered them to be detained in prison for 15 days, and thereafter handed over for transmission to New Caledonia.The Week, Brisbane, vendredi 16 juillet 1897, p. 13.
