THE PROJECTOGRAPHE
WE again beg to remind our readers of the Projectographe Exhibition which will take place at the Princeis Building to-morrow night, as well as to advise those who would like to attend to book their seats early, as a number of tickets, we understand, are being taken up by those who are desirous of witnessing one of Edison's greatest achievements in electricity. The Phoroscopic Journal says of this invention that even the Kinetograph and Kinetoscope, which are counted among the marvels of the century, sink into insignificance. So real and lifelike are the subjects thrown on the serene made to appear. The prices of admission are very popular, and have been so placed to enable everyone to attend.
Port of Spain gazette, Port of Spain, 6 de mayo de 1897, p. 4.
Para informar a los lectores, el mismo periódico reproduce un texto publicado en Jamaica Post de Jamaica:
THE PROJECTOGRAPHE
THE following is taken from the Jamaica Post. It bears out all that we have heard of the Exhibition which is to take place tonight:-
As briefly stated in yesterday's Post, the first exhibition of Edison's marvellous invention, the Projectographe, took place in the Town Hall of this city on Monday night last. The short paragraph utterly fails to do justice to the greatest marvel of this marvellous age.
Shortly after 7 p. m. the Exhibition commenced and the first scene depicted on the screen was that of the Farm with the servant girl feeding the cow and the poultry. then came the mounted Police charge. These scene showed a mass coming out until could be seen life-like figures of horses and men. The Black Diamond Express is a scene showing arrival of a train at a station and the dismounting of a passenger from it; the smoke from the engine was distinctly seen dissolving into the air. Starting for the fire showed the fire engines going off to the scene of the fire, the horses galloping the wheels turning. Men were seen leaving the track and a policeman standing on the side walk warning foot passengers of the approaching fire engines. After this came the barn on fire. This showed the flames bursting through a window, then two men rush up. open the barn door and disappear, coming out with a horse each. They return and re-enter the burning building, come out again bringing two half-harnessed horses, return and bring a two-wheeler. The Umbrella Dance was another wonderful scene. When first thrown on the screen an umbrella is seen with four feet below it dancing; a few seconds after the umbrella is thrown up and two girls are seen dancing hand in hand. This process is repeated two or three times. The Hurdle Race was another really good scene. The spectator sees before him a rural scene with a hurdle across the road. Suddenly a two-wheeler passes then another, and then one, two, three horses jump the hurdle, a fourth comes and not being so successful as his predecessors kicks the hurdle away, immediately a man rushes out and picks up the fallen hurdle, and with the assistance of another man quickly replaces it in position.
These are only a few of the representations but these are sufficient to give to the public a faint outline ot he marvellous exhibition which they have now an opportunity of witnessing. No one who can should fail to see the Projectographe, for it is the most marvellous production of its kind.
Port of Spain gazette, Port of Spain, 7 de mayo de 1897, p. 5.
Las funciones continúan con ciertas interrupciones:
THE PROJECTOGRAPHE
The Projectographic exhibition still continues to attract crowded houses. Las night was in every respect a thorough success, Owing to the Missionery meeting which will be held at the Prince's Building to-morrow evening there will be no show. those who desire to attend to-night's entertainment, in order to save disapointment, should secure their seats early at the Ice Establishment this morning.
Port of Spain gazette, Port of Spain, 11 de mayo de 1897, p. 3.
El éxito del projectographe no se desmiente. Por otras parte Daniels piensa organizar algunas funciones en otras ciudades:
THE PROJECTOGRAPHE
THIS truly wonderful exhibition continues to attract large crowds to the Prince's Building. Thursday night's exhibition was greatly enhanced by the exhibit of Mr. Daniel's comic dolls which elicited prolonged rounds of applause from the real comicality and drollery of their acts. We learn that through the courtesy of Mr. Pierre, Stipendiary Justice of Arima, the Manager proposes giving a short series of exhibitions in the Court house of that town, which we would advise the good Arimians not to lose the opportunity of witnessing for they will miss a most delightful and interesting show. We also hear it is not unlikely that the exhibition will be taken to Princestown and San Fernando for the benefit of the good folks in those districts who we are sure will appreciate what it is impossible for the most fertile descriptive writer to do justice to.

TO-NIGHT is the last exhibition of this wonderful invention at the Prince's Building. It has had a most successful run here and is deserving of it. Prof. Daniels and his talking family are also a great feature. We advise those desirous of attending to book their seats at once as the plan is filling up rapidly. The prices for to-night-reserved seats one shilling and children half price-should draw the largest house of the season.

THE LIMINOUS CINEMATOGRAPH
PERFORMANCE POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY
PROFESSOR FILIPPI called on yesterday evening and begged us to express to the public the great disappointment he felt in being able to carry out the programme, which he had placed before the public the last night. Unfortunately the machinery & c., was only landed yesterday; and he was unable to have a [...] of the light first and last night it was found that the force of light was insufficient. Mr. Baird of the Electric light has however promised to take in matter in hand to-day; and this evening the Professor will try the light and on MONDAY EVENING he will give his FIRST PERFORMANCE. The tickets which have been already purchased can be used for Monday night Professor Filippi assures us that in Trinidad public will not be disappointed at this performance.
The Port of Spain gazette, Port of Spain, 24 de junio de 1899, p. 5.
La dificultad se debe, principalmente, a la fuente eléctrica que no es suficiente para hacer funcionar el cinematógrafo:
LUMIERE'S CINEMATOGRAPH
TO MORROW evening the public may expect the deferred treat in the shape of Prof. Filippi's exhibition of Lumiere's Cinematograph at the Prince's Building. the Electric light having being adapted to suit the machine which, as we stated, is muche larger than Prof. Daniel's, the representations will satisfy the most fastidious. A representative of this paper was present along with many others at the trial last night. He says that to see the "Bull Fight" or the "Raising of Lazarus" would repay the price of admission. It is therefore to be hoped than there will be a big house. The programme is most attractive and interesting.

La prensa evoca a veces a Giuseppe Filippi como "Professor Lumiere":
THE CINEMATOGRAPHE AT THE PRINCES BUILDING.
OUR readers are reminded that Professor Lumiere's Cinematographe will give a grand performance at the Prince's Building to-night. Those who had the pleasure of attending the exhibitions on either Monday night or last night are agreed that this Cinematographe is the best ever seen in the Colony by far; indeed it is perfect. The programme is magnificent. Those who have witnessed these displays either in this part of the world or Europe agree that the great drawback is that only when they are perfect do they not try the eyes. But Professor Lumiere's exhibition is perfection itself and no one will come away with throbbing eyes, while all will enjoy his unequalled programme.

Finalmente, las proyecciones se efectúan correctamente y con éxito:
A COMBINATION ENTERTAINMENT
LAS NIGHT Prof. Filippi's excellent representation of the Story of the Passion of Our Lord took place with the greatest possible success. The films were really clear and produced marvellously distinct pictures of the world's greatest tragedy. Tonigh the "Passion" will be repeated; and the audience will have the pleasure of hearing for the first time the famous Eliotofone, an instrument which, it is said, out distances either the Phonograph or Graphophone or other talking machine. The programme has been carefully arranged, and those who attend can rely on spending a most enjoyable evening.

A FINE GRAMAPHONE
BEFORE very long we are to have the opportunity of being present at a fine entertainment at the Princes Building-gramaphone and cinematograph. Mr. Donovan has a wonderfully fine gramaphone, quite above anything yet seen in the Colony. Some music hall songs, cornet solos and so on from it were given at the Standard on Monday night in a manner that evoked loud applause. In a larger room they would have been heard to even better advantage.

CINEMATOGRAPH AND GRAMAPHONE ENTERTAINMENT TO-NIGHT.
WE beg to call the attention of the public to the advertisement in our columns of a Cinematograph and Gramaphone entertainment advertised for to-night and to-morrow night. All the Caracas papers speak highly of same. A private show was held a few nights ago and those who attended assert that a better turn out has never been here. The views are very distinct and long such as Astronomers Dream, A Dream at a Hotel in La Guayara, The Great Bull Fight, 6c. The latter lasts fifteen minutes and is alone worth seeing. It shows the whole fight from start to finish. The public can attend with safety and will not regret going. The Port of Spain Gazette, Port of Spain, martes 5 de diciembre de 1899, p. 6.

MECHANICAL TRIUMPHS

El Pan-American Electric Carnival de los hermanos Ireland (Prince's Building, 23 de febrero-14 de marzo de 1903)
Los hermanos Ireland presentan su Pan-American Electric Carnival a finales de febrero:
The Electric Carnival.
SUCCESSFUL OPENING AT THE PRINCE'S BUILDING.
THE first show in this colony given by the Pan-American Electric Carnival came off last night and was an unqualified success. The Pirnce's Building Hall was, if not crowded, at least as comfortably filled as on many a concert; and it was indeed a pleasant surprise seeing that it being Carnival night, a poor attendance was feared. Time and space compel us to limit our remarks on the performance; but it is not too much to say that as a cinematograph show the Brothers Ireland have scored a success over any of recent years here. The scenes of the coronation in and on the way to and from Westminster Abbey were of course of great interest; and as the series of these culminated in the procession of the crowned sovereigns under the Canadian Arch, the whole pit and a large part of the audience, with one impulse, joined the band in singing the National Anthem. Another much appreciated pair of views were those giving an idea of the Martinique and St Vincent eruptions, the former of which being in colours was a truly awful spectacle of fire, smoke and lava. In connection with these were also shown a beautiful series of still life photogrpahic views of the surroundings of St Pierre before and after the catastrophe. Out of a selection of over 45 pictures, fully 20 were amusing comic ones, the humour of which was in every case seen without vulgarity; and these were repeatedly applauded. Of the rest, the railway collision, explosion in a coal mine, the naval duel and sinking of a torpedo guaboat, the shooting of the white house rapids, Klondyke, were excellent; the whole closing with a fine representation of the torreador and gladiator scene in Quo Vadis, and the Burning of Rome. The whole came to an end at half past ten o'clock, the best commentary on the excellences of the show being afforded by the generally expressed opinion that it was the best three shillings' worth for a long time given at the Princes Building. The show will be repeated with changes to-night.

The Messrs. Irelands have done everything in their power to procure perfect order, so no fear need be entertained of such confusion as was witnessed at one of the former performances owing to the late arrival of the ticket takers. We join the public in wishing the Ireland Bros. every success and hope that to-night will break all records for the Princes Building as the entertainment is certainly worthy of liberal patronage.

Una nueva función tiene lugar el 20 de marzo como lo indica la reseña del día siguiente:
Another Packed House.
AT PRINCES BUILDING LAST NIGHT TO SEE THE ELECTRIC CARNIVAL.
There was another packed house at the Princes Building last night to the Electric Carnival, which proves the intense enthusiasm manifest in this popular attraction by the people of Port-of-Spain. This was the twelth performance given by the Ireland Brothers here and the fourth time they have given their farewell performances yet the enthusiasm was such each time as to hold them over for another week and it appears as though this attraction would be good here for a long engagement. However we are informed that they have already made arrangements to show in Tunapuna on Monday night, Arima on Tuesday, Couva on Wednesday and San Fernando for the balance of the week and will then leave for Demerara, so that there is no possibility of their remaining over again next week no matter how many an turned away or what inducement may be offered. A novel feature of last night's entertainment was a taffy eating conten test between a number of boys selected from the audience for which three prizes were awarded. Port-of-Spain has a large number of taffy consumers among its juvenile population but it was left for last night to prove who could consume a given quantity in the shortest time. The task of eating the taffy although pleasant to the pa[...] was not so easily accomplished as might be imagined for Mr Ireland had ordered a supply to be made late in the afternoon so that it would be fresh and sticky and the contortions displayed by the boys in their vain attemps to dispense with the adhesive Candy brought forth screams of laughter from the audience. To-night the Company will terminate the most successful engamement ever known in Port-of-Spain and the Ireland Brothers wishing to thank the public for the great appreciation shown for their entertainments will give fifteen dollars in two prizes of five and ten dollars each to some members of the audience.

RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR SEEN IN MOVING PICTURES
The topic now uppermost in everybody's mind is the Russian-Japanese war. The whole world is talking about it anxious to see, to hear and to learn. The public have been clamouring for accurate information, so after an expense of much time and money Ireland Bros have at last succeeded in obtaining a most excellent set of views on this all absorbing subject, and will exhibit them at the Princes Building for one week commencing the middle of next month. In addition to these war pictures will be Wonderful Fairyland, the most marvellous creation of animated photography, produced by Geo. Melies of Paris at a cost of ten thousand dollars, and had a long run this summer at the Alhambra in London, and Keith's and Proctor's New York Theatres.

A Moving Exhibition
SHOWING THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD
LIFE-LIKE WAR SCENES.
THE STORY OF THE GREAT ST. LOUIS EXPOSITION.
Readers will be glad to learn that Ireland Brothers have returned to Trinidad and will give a series of exhibitions at the Princes Building on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th. The crowded houses that greeted the Ireland Bros on their short visit here two years ago is still fresh in our memories. Messrs Ireland Bros. assure us that the former show was not a patch compared with what they have this time. Since they were here they have visited nearly all the important cities of the United States and Canada. They come here from the World's Fair, where they succeeded in obtaining a series of moving pictures of the St. Louis Exhibition, so that the people of Trinidad may have the great World's Fair brought to them and enjoy a trip about the grounds the same as those who paid hundreds of dollars to go there. Another feature of the Ireland Bros' Show will be moving pictures of the Japanese-Russian War; and an opportunity of seeing the great battle as they were actually fought by the little wily Japs, and big Russians will certainly prove interesting and instructive. "Fairyland," the most marvelous creation of the Cineomatographic art, produced by Geo. Milies of Paris at a cost of $10,000, and which was a special number for a long run at the Alhambra in London and Keith's and Proctor's New York theatres, will also be shown. "Uncle Tom's Cabin," Harriet Beecher Stowe's famous work was recently staged in New York on a grand scale expressly for the moving picture camera and the moving picture-reproduction is a more faithful version of this drama than any heretofore attempted. The moving picture machine adds many new effects impossible in any other production, such as the exciting steamboot race and Eliza's escape on the floating ice. Besides these features there are one hundred others consisting of side splitting comics, train scenes, panoramas, views of travel in foreign lands, etc. There will be a complete change of programme at each performance, and moderate prices will prevail to assure crowded houses. Tickets are on sal eat Goodwille and Wilson's.

Cinematograph Show.
SUCCESSFUL OPENING NIGHT.
The Ireland Brothers gave their first cinematograph exhibition of the season last evening at the Princes Building, when a fairly large but not crowded audience was present. The show is on the whole, a decided improvement on last year’s ; but the flickering of the views caused by the electric light was still an unpleasant feature of some. In the first section, the scenes of The Poachers, The Marvellous Wreath, and especially the metamorphosis of the Butterfly were very good ; but the Train Robery in the second part was the best of the evening.
This scene shows the hold up of an American Express train by a band of out outlaws. The scene opens showing the interior of a telegraph office. Two masked robbers enter and compel the operator to set the “signal block’’ to stop the approaching train also making him wire a fictitious order to the engineer to take water at this station instead of at their regular watering stop. The train comes to a stand still, conductor comes to the window and the frightened operator delivers the order while the bandits crouch out of sight at the same lime keeping their revolvers trained on him. No sooner does the conductor leave than they fall upon the operator bind and gag him then hastily depart to catch the train. Just before the train pulls out they stealthily board the train between the express car and tender. We now catch a view of the interior of the express car. The messenger is being engaged with his duties becoming alarmed at an unusual sound he goes to the door and peeping through the keyhole discovers the men trying to break in. He starts back in a bewildered manner quickly recovering, his first thought is of the valuables in the strong box which he hastily locks then throws the key through the open side door. Pulling his revolver he fortifies himself behind a pile of trunks. In the meantime the two robbers have succeeded in forcing an entrance then enter cautiously. The messenger opens fire on them, a desperate pistol duel takes place in which the messenger is killed. One of the robbers stands watch while the other tries to open the treasure box finding it locked he searches the messenger for the key. Not finding it he blows open the sale and they escape with the valuables and bags of mail. While some of the bandits are robbing the mail car two others are seen climbing over the tender one of them holding up the engineer, the other, covering the fireman who secures a shovel and a desperate tight ensues and the fireman is rendered unconscious and hurl from the swiftly moving train. The bandits then compel the engineer to stop the train uncouple the locomotive and pull ahead a hundred feet. They now compel the passengers to leave the coaches with bands up and stand in line with backs to train while one of the robbers covers them with pistols in both hands and the other ransacks their rockets. The desperadoes board the locomotive with their booty and compel the engineer to take then several miles down the rack where they bring the engine to a hault and take to the woods to where their horses are tied. We are now carried back to the telegraph office where the operator lies bound and gagged on the floor after considerable effort he succeeds in standing up and manipulating the key with his chin and then faints from exhaustion. His little daughter enters with his dinner pail and discovering his condition cuts the ropes and restores him to consciousness by throwing a glass of water in his face. He now rushes forth to give the alarm of the train robbery. The first place he reaches is a dance hall where the cow boys are having a dance. They are going through a lively quadrille when the operator arrives but as soon as they learn the news of the train robbery they rush for their guns saddle their horses and we see them in hot pursuit after the robbers several of the robbers are killed but three of them thinking they have eluded their pursuers stop and tie up their horses in a ravine and proceed to divide the spoils but their pursuers are watching them and soon they are surrounded and captured.
The scenes of the Russo-Japanese were, of course, much applauded but ; as might have been expected were far from as realistic or interesting as they were described to be: though the still-life portraits of leaders on either side, and of the Czar and the Emperor of Japan won much applause. The “Scenes from Fairyland” were also fairly good ; some of the sea scapes, and especially the views of “ life under the waves,” being really marvellous productions, and really very pretty. On the whole, the Ireland Brothers may be considered to have opened their season very successfully ; and to night’s performance should draw a large audience.

Ireland Bros. Cinematograph.
IRELAND Brothers' cinematograph entertainment was well attended on Saturday night. The programme began with an amusing series of pictures called " The Drawing Lesson," which excited much amusement. This was followed by a gladiatorial combat before Nero, a dance and the burning of Rome. " The doings on the Pike" at the World's Fair was a capital illustration of the amusements at the St. Louis Exposition. Next followed the election of Pius X. The last item of the first part was " Scenes from the Life of an American Fireman." The audience was shown the Fire Station with all the men asleep in their dormitory. The alarm was given and the firemen literally sprang into their clothes and slid down a pole to the engine room below. The scene changed and the horses were being hitched on to the engines, and the firemen coming down the pole and getting into their places. Next the engines were seen galloping along the road at various points of the route. The! scene then changed to the burning house. A mother jumps from her bed and finding no escape faints under the smoke fumes. A fireman dashes in, breaks the window, picks up the woman and takes her out of the window and down a ladder. He reappears and saves her child ; then scenes outside the burning building were shewn. The second part was made up of incidents in the Russo-Japanese war on sea and land, and were in many instances most realistic. The third part consisted of the story of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," which was much appreciated. Part IV. was principally of a comic character, and ended with the sensational chase of a burglar by policemen. The show is a very good one and fully maintains Ireland Brothers' reputation as popular entertainers of a high order. They are now giving exhibitions in San Fernando, and will be back at Prince's Building on Dec. 23 and 24.

Ireland Brothers
WILL RETURN TO PRINCES BUILDING TO-MORROW.
WILL DISTRIBUTE SIX HUNDRED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS ON SATURDAY.
Messrs. Ireland will return to Port-of- Spain to-morrow and give us two more of their splendid shows in the Princes Building to-morrow night and on Saturday night. On account of the very poor business done by the dramatic company many thought the people had spent their money with the Opera Company or were saving up for Christmas. But that they had saved a portion of it for Ireland Bros., was evidenced by the crowded houses that greeted them at Princes Building last Friday and Saturday. To-morrow and Saturday Ireland Bros, will give a coupon with each ticket which will entitle the holder to a valuable Christmas present which will be distributed on Saturday night. Ireland Bros, are giving away about six hundred presents consisting of watches, docks, chains, albums, comb and brush sets, cuff buttons, jack knives, mouth organs etc, to their patrons, and not with standing this and the fact that they would get a full house without it, they have made a reduction in the prices to 3s., for reserved seats and 1/6 for gallery so that we would advise those who intend going to secure their seats in advance, as there should be two of the largest houses ever known in Princes’ Building and Mr. Ireland has the record for drawing crowds.

TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW NIGHT.
ONE SHILLING FRONT SKATS, BACK SEATS SIX FENCE.
Messrs. Ireland Bro’s will close their season here to-morrow night and will give us two grand farewell performances to night and to-morrow night, consisting of the best programme that it is possible to arrange from their entire collection and at prices below any yet known in the Theatrical history of Tririnidad. Messrs. Ireland desire to express their gratitude for the many kind favours which have been shown them during their stay here and believing this to be the most fitting way have decided to give these farewell performances at prices which will barely cover the cost of the expenses. The prices as advertised for these nights on the posters about the town and also in the papers up to this issue have been 2s. for front seats and 1s. for back seats, but Ireland Brothers are cutting this in half making it only 1s. for front seats, and 6d, for gallery which is the lowest price ever reached by any theatrical company that has ever visited Trinidad and should be within the reach of every one, so that those who have not been able to see these most interesting and instructive exhibitions will now have an opportunity of going. We hope the people will turn out in large numbers to pack the budding and give Ireland Bros. the encouraging farewell that the exhibition and prices waraant.

De regreso de Surinam, los hermanos Ireland se disponen a presentar vistas animadas:
Ireland Bros. at Prince's Building
IRELAND Bros. arrived Saturday from Surinam, where they have been playing to crowded houses nightly for the past month. During their absence from Fort of-Spain they have succeeded in disposing of all their old pictures and have secured a great number of all the latest subjects in motion photograpby from London, Paris and New York, and will give 4 performances at the Prince's Building, commencing next Friday, March 24, showing the pictures for the first time in the West Indies. The Bold Bank Robbery is the most exciting and thrilling picture ever produced, far surpassing the Great Train Robbery. It shows thieves robbing a bank vault, their escape on automobiles, the chase and final capture after a great many exceedingly thrilling incidents. "Meet me at the Fountain" is a screaming laugh start to finish. A Frenchman who has just arrived in New York inserts the following advertisement in a leading paper. Personal: -A French nobleman recently arrived in New York wishes to meet handsome young lady, object matrimony. Meet me at the fountain at 10 a.m." Unhappily for the Count, there are too many young ladies in New York looking for just such a husband, and when 10 a.m. arrives there are more girls than the Count anticipated and they soon surround him. Hе becomes afraid and makes a dash for liberty when a desperate chase ensues in which we see young women chasing the Count across fields, through lanes, over fences, through rivers until at last he becomes so tired he is obliged to climb a tree when one old maid who is a little uglier than the rest catches him by the foot, brings him to the ground and takes him home in her arms. Fireworks is something entirely new in coloured motion photography and gives one a good idea of the celebration of the 4th of July in the United States. A great many other subjects, including a fine collection of scenes from the war, will also be shown. Ireland Brothers will give but four performances here as they intend leaving on March 29 by R.M.S. Severn for Caracas.

WILL GIVE TWO MORE EXHIBITIONS.
Owing to certain chemicals that Ireland Bros. require for the working of their machine not arriving as expected, they have been forced to remain over for the Dutch steamer which sails on Monday, and will give two more of their grand exhibitions of moving pictures at Prince's Building again on Friday and Saturday, so that those who have not had an opportunity of witnessing these excellent exhibitions, will still have another opportunity. The audiences at Prince's Building have grown with every performance and at their last performance it out grew the capacity of the building so that some of the late arrivals were unable to find room. Those who have seen similar exhibitions in London and New York say they have never seen any that would equal the ones given by Messrs. Ireland Bros. here. The whole town is now talking about it and Messrs Ire and Bros. have had numerous requests to repeat some of the scenes again on Friday and Saturday, which they have promised to do, but they have some new scenes which have never yet been seen here which will also be included in the programme. Judging from the crowded houses which they have been drawing, we prophesy bumper houses regain on Friday arid Saturday and as a word to the wise is sufficient we would say "go early" if you wish a good seat. The same popular prices will prevail: Front seats 2/. Gallery 1/.

Last evening at the Princes Building there was given the opening show of the "Kaurt Cinematograph," claimed to be the best and most wonderful machine of its kind in the world, and certainly as good as any we have seen here, which arrived in Trinidad recently and will give a few performances. The story of Red Riding Hood, told in 12 pictures, the views of festivities in Paris (amongst which is somewhat incongruously given the Funeral of Emile Zola), the scenes from the Russo-Japanese War, and and at the end the beautiful coloured pictures of the life and deeds of Joan of Arc, were very gaod [sic]; and we are sure the Bulding will be filled with a large audience to-night for the second performance, when a change of programme, as advertised elsewhere in this issue will be given.

El cinematógrafo de la Keystone Amusement Company (Princes Building, 8-> de diciembre de 1906)
La Keystone Amusement Company presenta vista animadas en el Princes Building:
A night's Entertainment, At Last !!!
THERE can be no doubt that the evening relaxations of this colony are limited. Our pens have grown weary in the constant demande for a theatre, but faute de mieux we have the Princes Building, and even this has been unoccupied for much too long a period. On Saturday night next it will again however be the scene of some sort of entertainment or other. Apart from what we have been told of the Cinematograph Company that is now in our midst we are sure that the general public will fly to the Building, on that night with a sigh of relief. The Company that arrived yesterday is known as the Keystone Amusement Company and bails, as most of such companies do,-from the States. The manager of the Company is Mr. A. H. Black, and he informed us yesterday that his election of films is unique, that only le most refined and amusing are contained in it, and that the instrument that reproduces the moving pictures on the screen is to all intents and purposes as smooth running as it can be. He tells us further that this is his first show since the Company left the States, and that the prices are to be on the popular scale. That is at 4/- and 2/-. Three shows will be given, on the 8th, 10th, and 12th instant. The Box plan will be opened at Strong's Piano Warehouse on Friday morning.
