LITTLE TICH
Dislocates His Knee on the Stage.
In the course of his performance at the Belfast Hippodrome, Little Tich, the wellknown comedian, received a severe injury to his knee, which a doctor the audienoe subsequently found had been dislocated.
The artist was parodying the "serpentine dance" when he stopped abruptly and limped off the stage.
Thinking it was part of the entertainment the audienoe clamoured loudly for his return, until the manager explained what had happened.
The accident will necessitate complete rest for seven weeks.
Little Tich, who in private life is Mr Harry Relph, was born at Sevenoaks 21st July, 1868.
He made his first music-hall appearance at the age of 12.
His now famous stage name was suggested by the Tichborne case, at the time the sensation of the day.
Little Tich is nothing if not up to date, but the "serpentine dance," which proved unfortunate last night is " turn he has been doing for a number of years, and comes next to his big-boot dance in popularity.
Mr Relph may be able to find consolation during his enforced " resting " by painting in oils and by playing the 'cello two of his unadvertised accomplishments.
