L'Imperial Biograph de Frank St. Hill (Criterion Theatre, 6 octobre 1902)
Frank St. Hill organise des projections animées avec son Imperial Biograph :
The Jeffries-Fitzsimmons Fight.
The St. Hill's Sporting Life Company, which has lately been showing in Auckland with such great success, has decided to show in the goldfields district, and open at Paeroa on Monday, October 6th. They have with them a first-class biograph which is admirably manipulated by the operator. Amongst the pictures exhibited there is a magnificent one of the Jeffries -Fitzsimmons fight, which in sporting circles has been the event of the century—the series of films are truly splended, and you can almost imagine the fight to he genuine instead of a picture. Other films are shown of a sporting nature which have attracted great attention and elicited rounds of applause. The variety portion of the entertainment is well sustained by Manulita, who is a graceful and pretty daucer, with a remarkably fine appearance, and her statue posing must be seen to be realised. Frank St. Hill whistles, tells good anecdotes, and lectures and is a first-class all round performer while Miss Pritchard contributes greatly to the public enjoyment by her pleasing manner and sweet voice. This is an entertainment that should be missed by none.
