The Edison Cinematographe de Frank St. Hill (Town Hall, 16 décembre 1896)
Frank St. Hill annonce une séance au Town Hall de projections animées avec the Edison Cinematographe.
The West Australian, Perth, mardi 15 décembre 1896, p. 1.
La presse propose, quelques jours plus tard, un compte rendu de cette séance ;
THE CINEMATOGRAPHE. — The Edison cmematographe was manipulated in the Fremantle Town-hall on Dec. 16 for the first time. The hall was packed, many people having to stand throughout the performance. Ten scenes in all were thrown upon the canvas, and the movements of the characters and their facial expressions were almost as plainly depicted as if the originals had 'been before the audience.- "Niagara Falls," one of the scenes, drew forth many favorable comments, as likewise did "Buffalo Bill,"' "Spanish Dancing Girl," and a "Group of Indians" in the act of meting out summary punishment to their alleged foes — white men. "The Serpentine Dance" was one of the "hits" of the evening. Mr. Frank St. Hill must be congratulated upon the arrangements he has made in connection with the show.
