Le cinématographe Lumière de W. G. Pearse (Theatre Royal, 10-12 juin 1897)
Dès le mois de juin, la presse signale la présence de W. G. Pearse :
LUMIERE'S CINEMATOGRAPHE
Through our business columns it is notified that we are to have an opportunity during the current week, of viewing the wonderful Lumiere's Cinematographe Which has been drawing good houses in Brisbane for several weeks past. The programme published in this issue, for Thursday night, includes views from London, Paris, Italy, Java, etc. and last but not least, a number of views taken at Flemington on last Cup Day, in which the champion Newhaven figures prominently throughout, and a representation of the race itself is given. Mr. Pearse, the agent, is now in town, and he informs us that this is the only town in our colony which the proprietors intend visiting, as they rarely play away from the southern cities, consequently we may congratulate ourselves on having such a high class entertainment at our very doors. The opening night is Thursday, and seats may now be booked at Cox and Roberts. The entertainment is advertised for three nights only, with a change of programme each night.
