Le Cinématographe Lumière de W. G. Pearse et Georges Boivin (School of Arts, 15-17 juillet 1897)
William. G. Pearse et Georges Boivin présentent le cinématographe Lumière pendant trois jours à la School of Arts.
Lumlere's Cinematograph.
It is announced elsewhere that we are to have an opportunity of viewing that wonderful of all machines, viz., Lumiere's Cinematograph. Mr. Pearse, the agent, is. now in town, and, as announced, the opening night is fixed for Thursday. This town is the first ever visited by Lumiere's machine, as up to the present they never played away from the cities, and, judging by the amount of business they have been doing, we have no doubt they will be equally well patronised here. We are also informed that there is no quivering, so noticeable in other machines which have visited us. By referring to our other columns it will be seen that the pictures are numerous, and an entire change of programme is promised for every night. As this company carry their own electric light plant, and keep themselves posted up in all the latest improvements, we may congratulate ourselves on having such a high class entertainment in our mist. Seats can be booked in advance for the season at J. R. and A. Jones'.
