Whilst in New Zeland Mr West is securing a series of views of the scenery and pricipal cities, which he will show on his return to England. He had intended to visit the Otira Gorge this week, but was deterred by the inclement weather. The frozen meat industry will be fully illustrated, and will thus give audiences at Home an opportunity of viewing the staple industry of New Zealand. Mr. West will also take pictures of the natives and scenery in the North Island.

Mr T. J. West, of West's Pictures and the Brescians, is an enterprising gentleman. Having hit upon the idea of “displaying'’ members of the New Zealand Legislature by means of animated views, the necessary arrangements were made, and yesterday morning he "got" tje Speaker, and subsequently the senior Government whip riding up to the main entrance of the House in a motor-car. Early in the afternoon a large number of members of both Houses, including members of the Ministry, were taken in colloquial attitudes in the Parliamentary grounds. This, Mr West believes, is the first time any Parliament in the world has been kinematographed. Arrangements are being made to kinematograph a parade of public school cadets in Wellington.
New Zealand Times, Wellington, jeudi 20 juillet 1905, p. 4.

Mr. T. J. West has been commissioned by the New Zealand Government to take a series of animated pictures of the wonders of the colony, and he will spend some time in the Rotorua district for this purpose. Sir Joseph Ward has, among other items, arranged a wood-chopping contest at Hamilton, and also some Maori gatherings of a unique character.

Wairoa geyser was played yesterday by instructions of the Government to enable Mr T. J. West, of West's Pictures and the Brescians Company, to take a cinematograph picture for exhibition in the Home Country and throughout Australasia. It was a magnificent success, being considered the best shot ever seen, the water reaching a height of over 130 ft. The display was witnessed by a large crowd of residents and visitors. Some interesting scenes of a Maori wedding and native customs were also procured by the company.

Mr. T. J. West, of the West-Brescian Company, yesterday afternoon took a cinematograph film of 600 Auckland cadets, under circumstances promising the greatest success. This morning at noon an animated picture of Queen-street was taken from the platform of a special tram, much interest being displayed by the public. Both series of films will be put on the screen during the West-Brescian season.
