Le cinématographe de John Mackenzie (School, 29 août 1901)
John Mackenzie organise une projection cinématographique :
INVERGARRY-CINEMATOGRAPH ENTERTAINMENT.-On the evening of Thursday last the inhabitants of Glengarry were, on the invitation of Captain Ellice, treated one of Mr Mackenzie’s famous cinematograph entertainments in the school. The first and third sections of the programme were devoted to pictures of scenic and industrial interest, or having amusing features, the central section being assigned to the pourtrayal of numerous incidents connected with the embodiment, training, and dispatch to the front of the first and second contingents of Lovat Scouts, and with tire return of the first contingent to Beaufort and Fort-William. The pictures were beautifully clear and realistic, and the performance throughout was heartily enjoyed. The musical accompaniments were rendered in an accomplished manner Mrs Wicks, and at intervals Mr Mackenzie had arranged the rehearsal of several pieces by the phonograph, which proved a highly interesting novelty. At the close, on the motion of the Rev. Norman Maclean, Captain Ellice was awarded a hearty vote of thanks for his generosity.
