John Mackenzie présente des vues animées au mois de décembre :
ARPAFEELIE-ENTERTAINMENT. —On Thursday, the 29th ult., Mr and Mrs Cameron, St John’s Rectory, gave their annual treat the scholars of the Day and Sunday Schools, in the form of cinematograph and gramophone exhibition (worked by Mr Mackenzie, Inverness), followed by a dance. Tea was served punctually at 5 o’clock; the cinematograph exhibition began at 6 o’clock, by which hour many of the adults residing in the district had arrived, who afterwards evinced great pleasure and profound astonishing they witnessed the moving pictures, accompanied by the jeers of the multitude or the strains of military music, as the case might be, which issued forth from the gramaphone. The Rev. Spence Ross, Fortrose called for three cheers for their kind host and hostess, which were accorded in highly Celtic fashion. Dancing then commenced, and was kept with great vigour till about 2 o’clock, the music being supplied by Piper Murdo Ross, piper to the Duke of Sutherland.
