NORTH KESSOCK-SABBATH SCHOOL TREAT.-On Thursday evening the children attending the Sabbath School at Kessock were entertained to their annual treat of tea, cake, &c, by Mr and Mrs Fraser, Craighill, who were present, and were indefatigable in their efforts to amuse and please the children. [...] After tea, the children adjourned to a larger hall, where a number of their parents and others were assembled, to witness a display of floral and a large selection of animated figures by the cinematograph, which was ably and well handled by Mr. Mackenzie, Inverness. The programme was a long and varied one, including a new selection of local views, such as the railway workmen going to dinner, Artillery preparing for inspection, a busy hour on Greig Street Bridge, &c. The pictures which aroused most interest were views of Johannesburg, the Boers preparing for war, and President Kruger driving in state. the effect of this picture on the children was most amusing, they hissed and jeered vociferous y, and when a picture of her Gracious Majesty appeared on the screen it invoked a loyal burst of enthusiasm. A large number of new pictures were exhibited, and all these proved a great success.Inverness Courier, Inverness, mardi 24 octobre 1899, p. 7.
