Dornoch—Cinematograph Exhibition.- The spacious new Volunteer Hail here was quite filled by appreciative audience on Friday evening last, when Mr Mackenzie, optician, Inverness, gave his cinematograph and gramophone entertainment. The large array of new animated pictures, notably those of the Spanish-American war, were enthusiastically received, also the funeral of Mr Gladstone, and the long film picture of the Queen’s Jubilee. The selections by the gramophone surprised and delighted the large assemblage, who at the close requested Mr Mackenzie to pay return visit.

La presse offre un compte rendu de la soirée :
DORNOCH—MACKENZIE'S CINEMATOGRAPH. —Mr Mackenzie's first public entertainment of the season was given in the Volunteer Hall, Dornoch. last Friday night. The hall was filled to overflowing, and numbers were unable to gain admittance. The reserve seats were quite crowded by a very fashionable array of visitors and well-known local people, including the Provost and many of the Town Council of the burgh. The cinematograph pictures were hugely enjoyed, and were acknowledged to be superior to any yet seen here. The Coronation, Naval Review, and Boer Generals' films as well as Mr Mackenzie's copyright Dornoch cinematograms were cheered to the echo. It as remarkably appropriate that so many films on the programme depicted His Majesty the King. who was paying a visit to this ancient and royal northern burgh at the time. The pictures, accompanied as they were by appropriate music tastefully rendered by Miss Holloway, provided a most pleasing evening's entertainment.
