The Music Hall and Theatre Review.

A CARTOONIST DEAD.
Tom Merry, the well-known artist, is dead. He was just fifty years of age, and died very suddenly at Benfleet, after three days of severe diabetes. Tom was a genial, lively, entertaining man, who had travelled round the world as a lightning cartoonist, and in that capacity well known in all the music halls of Great Britain and Ireland. He will, however, best be remembered by the remarkable series of coloured cartoons which he executed weekly for the St. Stephen's Review, the defunct organ of the Tory Government between the years 1884-1890. At the time of his death he was chief artist on the staff of Lloyd's Newspaper, and many of his cartoons have appeared in the Weekly Dispatch.

Un autre journal donne quelques informations complémentaires.
