L'Imperial Biograph de Frank St. Hill (Alexandra Hall, 30 juin 1902)
Frank St. Hill organise des projections animées avec son Imperial Biograph :
St. Hill's Company.
A unique entertainment is to be given in the Alexandra Hall on Monday evening, when the above company will appear. It is not often that a company possesses such a number of novel items as the manager has collected for this tour. Mr Chas. Jones, the greatest trick cyclist in the world, rides on a track pitched at an angle of 65 degrees without the handle bars. Irene La Tour, with her clever dog, is a contortionist of great repute, being the rage at the London Hippodrome for some months. Madame Zola is acknowledged to be a very pretty and graceful serpentine dancer. Miss Pritchard, in her turn “ The Holy City," which is rendered with scenic effects, and assisted by the Imperial Biograph, is very good indeed, as the lady’s voice is very suited to that class of song. Mr Frank St. Hill, in the “ Handy Man ” and his whistling turn, is always a welcome item in any programme. The great International Glove Contest has been the theme of conversation of all who have witnessed it, on the West Coast and in Wellington. The picture shows the full 11 rounds, timekeepers, referees, and all preliminaries. The pictures shown are 14 x 14. A dozen other items constitute an excellent evening’s enjoyment.
