Le cinématographe de John Mackenzie (Drill Hall, 12 octobre 1898)
John Mackenzie présente son cinématographe en octobre :
ENTERTAINMIENT.-On Wednesday evening Mr Mackenzie, of Inveness, gave his excellent entertainment to a crowded audience in the Drill Hall. The exhibition of animated photographs by the cinematograph was certainly the best yet seen in Stornoway. The pictures were shown with wonderful clearness, and almost an entire absence of flicker. They included the Diamond Jubilee procession in one continuous picture (a film which takes nearly ten minutes passing through the lantern); American Volunteers leaving for the front; and Mr Gladstone's funeral. The gramophone was a great attraction, this being the first publicly exhibited at Stornoway. The whole programme, as we have said, was excellent, and the audience were unanimous in voting the entertainment a success.
