A Spanish Bull-Fight
5677. A SPANISH BULL-FIGHT. Photographed by us May 24th, 1900. Note.-Having secured special facilities by courtesy of the Management of the Gran Plaza de Toros de Bordeaux, with apparatus especially built for the purpose of following the quick movements of the bull and fighters, we herewith place on the market the only complete Bull Fight ever published. The picture commences with a panoramic view of the entire bull ring, with its terraced seating space and thousands of excited spectators; then changes to a views showing the entrance and march of the bull fighters. ha After their saluting the distinguished guests present, the bull pen is opened, and out rushes a magnificent animal, momentarily dazed by the sudden glare of light. Serious work soon commences, and after upsetting a few horses and badly goring others, its attention is attracted by the Toreadors, who have several narrow escapes, and make many dexterous passes with their red capes, one of which the bull catches on his horns and becomes entangled therein, cutting many amusing capers in order to toss it from him. The Banderillos finally insert their torturous barbed sticks, after which the Matador (Bombita Chico in this instance), after many passes, thrusts his sword to the hilt into the hull, which collapses, and is put out of its misery by a dagger in the hands of an assistant The gaily caparisoned teams of mules then arrive and drag out the bodies of the dead bull and horses while the Matador is bowing to the cheering multitudes, and throwing back the hats and sticks tossed into the arena by his enthusiastic admirers. A clear picture of fine definition, full of exciting action and figures, large sized, showing every detail of a bull fight as it has never been shown before. Total Length. 500 feet. Price £25. Only furnished in the complete length. The Era, London, Saturday 16 June 1900, p. 28.
