BATTLE

Les Animated Photographs d'Ernest Wighton (août 1897)

Jean-Claude SEGUIN

BATTLE
[...]
Animated Photographs.—An exceedingly clever and interesting entertainment was given at the Drill Hall on Thursday evening, when Mr. David Devant's animated photographs were shown to an appreciative audience. The Diamond Jubilee procession, an American express train travelling at 70 miles an hour, a Spanish bull fight, and serpentine dancing, in which the colours were delivered with remarkable distinctness and steadiness, were amongst a number of scenes depicted with all the movements of real life, and the able work of the operators, Messrs. J. W. Seers and E. Wighton, was recognised by enthusiastic applause. The pictures were interspersed with some musical sketches, given with great ability by Mr. Griffith Humphreys. The Company will repeat their entertainment this evening, and will appear at Bexhill on Monday and Tuesday, whence they journey on to Hythe.
