When the Lumiere's stock came to us in Israel it was with the Palestinian films. So we thought it was taken in Jaffa ! and all my experts (on the history of Jaffa) has identified the location as the place called today : "The clock tower square" in Jaffa. Another bewildering item is the non-uniformed people in the picture: they all seems to be Arabs not Turks; especially the man in the foreground, wearing an "Abaya" and on his head "Kafia" and "Akal"-dressing items that were unlikely to be found in Constantinople.
