Le Cinématographe de Mr. Mann (Court House, <23 août 1900)
Le Barbadien Lindsey H. W. Mann présente des vues animées et organise des auditions avec un phonographe :
MR MANN'S CINEMATOGRAPH.
MR MANN'S Cinematograph Show at the Court House was excellent. The pictures were realistic, clear, and well selected. The Phonograph, which is the most distinct we have listened to, did capital service, albeit somewhat metallic in the rendering of the instrumental music, while the pronounced nasality of the vocal pieces betrayed unmistakeably the nationality of the singers.
The room was crammed with a highly appreciative and remarkably orderly audience. It is a thoroughly good Show, and well worth going to see.

La Compagnie d'Art de Giuseppe Filippi (New School House, 27 février-[27] mars 1902)
Giuseppe Filippi, directeur de la Compagnie d'Art, va se rendre à Sainte-Lucie :
La Compagnie d'art va nous laisser jeudi prochain par le courrier anglais: elle se rendra à Sainte-Lucie.

La troupe arrive le 27 février :
The Art Company, whose most artistic reproductions of scenes and portraits of ancient and modern places and celebrities, and of living actualities by the Cinematograph, have been delighting the West Indies, will visit St. Lucia by to-morrow mail. Look out for their very attractive programme.

THE ART COMPANY'S EXHIBITION
THE Cinmeatograph Exhibition of the Art Company was opened on last evening, and is a long way the best of the kind that has been shewn in the West Indies. The large audience gathered in the ground floor of the new School House in Broglie Street, was kept interested and amused uninterruptedly for two hours, as the pictures, grave and gay, succeeded each other on the screen, Signor Filippi acceding without demur to0 the call for a repitition of the scenes which received most acceptance. It is greatly to be regretted that the room is not lofty enough to admit of the large panoramic views, which are a leading feature of the Company's repertoire, being shewn. The large are light at the door and the 16 candle power incandescent lights in the room give a pleasing foretaste of what the citizens of Castries may expect in the let us hope not too distant future.
We appeal to the self respect of the people of this island not to allow themselves to be misled by rowdies coming from God knows where, into making a disturbance which is not clever or funny, or indulged in any civilized country by any but roughs. For, at the same time as it annoys everyboby else in the audience it makes every decent St. Lucian wild that strangers to the country should be able to go about spreaching the impression that the people of this colony are savages and do not know how to behave themselves.

THE ART COMPANY
The Art Company's Cinematograph Exhibition continues to attract large audiences. The educating influence of this Show, in putting before the eyes of people who have never left the colony vivid, lifelike reproductions of historical scenes and places of which they have only read, is very noticeable. Those who have had the better fortune to travel from the island to the large centres of civilization, renew the pleasures of which the scenes are so faithfully recalled, While all can join in the hearty laughter which the comic pictures provoke.
This Entertainment is perhaps the most popular which has been presented in this colony, and is all the more to be commended as it combines instruction with amusement.
We have to congratulate the audience on a very noticeable improvement in the deportment of a small but disorderly section.

La Compagnie d'Art qui a laissé de si excellents souvenirs à la Guadeloupe, remporte, avec ses soirées cinématographiques, beaucoup de succès à Castries, Sainte-Lucie, où elle est depuis son départ de Basse-Terre.
Vers le 1er avril, M. Filippi pense aller à Saint-Thomas, de là il se rendra à Porto-Rico.
Tous nos voeux accompagnent la Compagnie d'Art.
