Le Cinematographe Lumière d'Isaac Kline (Conkey's Hall, 15-17 mars 1900)
Isaac Kline présente son cinématographe en mars :
"The Cinemetographe."
The coming Cinematographe entertainment at Conkey's opera house, 3 evenings. commencing Thursday, March 15, is well worth a visit. A cinematographe is about the same thing as a vitascope, reproducing actions by thousands of instantaneous photographs.
The cinematographe is a French machine, made by Sumiere [sic] of Paris. and very expensive and very heavy. The machine is much larger than those in common use. The films are of special that which makes the picture rim 2¼x1½ inches in size, and those used in the small machines ¾x1¼ inches, about as big as an ordinary kodak picture; four sets of lenses are used, the result is that the picture is very bright, clear and distinct. The "battle" films are as natural as if the spectators were seeing the real thing. The war scenes are simply astonishing. It is a performance well worth seeing. Remember this is the company that created such a sensation here last year la February. Prices 10, 20 and 30 cents, on sale Lowe & Witherspoon's drug store. Ladies free at opening program when accompanied by one paid admission.
