Akron Catches the Cinematograph Fever.
Kline's cinematograph has become the fad, and as it is to be here at the Academy of Music for three nights, beginning Monday, it is probable that the first of next week we shall hear little but cinematograph and "did you gee it?" It Seems most remarkable that the entertainment should be so successful and popular; and yet it has the elements which deserve it. The views embrace a wide variety of subjects, among them the morning parade of the Newark, N. J., fire department; the same department fighting a fire; the Buffalo horse market; tally-ho coach arriving at an inn and the passengers alighting; a runaway in Central park with mounted police in full chase; bathing scene at Coney island etc., etc., all the views so perfect that it is difficult for the spectator to realize that he does not see before him the original instead of a counterfeit presentation of the scene. The phonograph entertainment includes a number of pleasing selections including reproductions of the voice of Maj. McKinley and Mr. Bryan in extracts from speeches made by them during the last campaign.
