BOYS CHEER FIRE RUN VIEWS
Moving Pictures of Fire Department Arouse Enthusiasm.
On Saturday afternoon and evening next, at the Appleton Theatre, will be given an entertainment for the benefit of the relief fund of the Appleton fire department, presenting a splendid program of high-class vaudeville and moving pictures of the Appleton fire department in action, showing a run up College avenue, work at a fire, turning out the department for a run, and many other pictures, besides scenes from famous fires in great cities. The same company to be seen here, recently gave an entertainment in Evansville, Ind., and of it the Evansville Courier said:
"The audience was delighted with the re-production of the run by the local fire department and the thrillingly beautiful electrical effects in the dancing and moving pictures. The feature of the program, which was enjoyable from the beginning to the end was a run made in Water street by several companies of the Evansville department. The pictures were so plain and life-like that the small boys in the audience picked out their favorites among the brave fire fighters and shouted their names as they dashed down the street holding to the brass rods of the reels.'* Tickets on sale by all members of the fire department and at Woelz Bros. drug store, where the reservation of seats will open Thursday morning, Feb. 12, at 9 o'clock.

Quelques jours plus tard, la presse évoque les projections animées :
The Firemen's Benefit.
The moving picture entertainment given for the benefit of the relief fund of the Appleton fire department attracted two capacity-testing audiences to the Appleton Theatre Saturday afternoon and evening. The interest, of course, centered in the pictures of the fire-run, the patrol run, and other pictures of work of the local department, which were excellent. The pictures of the Neenah fire department were also greatly enjoyed, and the pictures of the recent funeral of Fire Chief Foley, of Milwaukee, were a feature. The remainder of the entertainment consisted of moving pictures of a miscellaneous character, interspersed with illustrated songs. The entertainment netted $300 to the firemen's relief fund.
