The Edward Shields Company gave an interesting and enjoyable concert on the water front at 8 o'clock last night. The moving pictures were an especial feature. Helen Lamar recited a short story and Chas. H. Whitney was loudly applauded for his two illustrated songs. Mr. Shields tour of Manila and the Philippines was very entertaining, and the crowd was disappointed when he was obliged to close on account of an accident to his instrument. Edward Shields présente des vues animées en novembre :
The Edward Shields Company will give an entertainment at at Fisher's opera house this evening for the benefit of the Young memorial fund. Of the company the Seattle Times says: "The Shields company is proving very popular. Miss Lamar is a favorite with the audience. Her recitals, illustrated by pictures, are well received and applauded. Chas. H. Whiting possesses a fine baritone voice, and is obliged to respond to several encores with his illustrated gongs. The moving pictures which Edward Shields exhibits take the audience every time, showing as they do, the struggles which the boys have been through in the Philippines. Several series of pictures taken ou the firing line were shown. The collection is most interesting.
