Mr. CHAS. RAYMOND.
The British and Colonial Kinematograph Co.. Ltd., are to be congratulated upon having secured as one of their producers Mr. Charles Raymond, the well-known actor and pantomimist, for many years connected with the Alhambra, Palace and other West End theatres. Mr. Charles Raymond claims to have created a record in the kinematograph world as he played the title role and also produced, without a previous reharsal, " Hamlet " all in one day, whilst the adaptation of Shakespeare's immortal tragedy for the kinematograph is also the outcome of Mr. Raymond's pen.Kinematograph Weekly, jeudi 2 mai 1902, p. 137.

Mr. Charles Raymond, who is also responsible for "The Clerk's Downfall," in which, by the way, he takes the part of clerk, and all our other successes. Mr. Raymond has previously done good work for the Warwick, and is recognised as one of the foremost English producers. He has been a leading dancer at the Alhambra, and is also well known as a prominent producer of pantomime. We had also the advantage of the services of Mr. O. Martinck. The latter was primarily responsible for "His Lord's Honour," and supervises the production of the scenes for all our subjects, and we regard him as one of the best men in London at the work. The Kinematograph & Lantern Weekly, 3 février 1910, p. 713-717.

In Memoriam
Especially fresh in memory was Charles Raymond, whose sudden death occurred on Friday last.Kinematograph Weekly, jeudi 4 décembre 1930, p. 29.

IT was with great regret that I heard of the death of Charles Raymond, one of the first to blaze the trail of British production as long ago as 1902. He died quite suddenly from a heart attack at his home on Friday evening, and was buried on Tuesday.

O. H. Martinek and Charles Raymond were responsible for most of the early B. and C. films, subsequently Maurice Elvey joined us, and after came a succession of producers and artistes who have, in a number of cases, remained faithful to the film Industry and made a great name for themselves. During this time there was a great call for melodramatic films, and the B. and C. was responsible for such films as "Her Luck in London," "Suicide Club," "Black-eyed Susan," all three-reelers, and "The Wreck of the Birkenhead," a four-reeler. Elizabeth Risdon starred in most of these films, and Peggy Hyland made her first appearance on the screen with this company. Montague Love, since become famous for his portrayal of Rasputin, also gained his early experience with the B. and C. Kinematograph Weekly, 20 mai 1920, p. 109.

Il quitte le cinéma en 1920 après avoir tourné son dernier film, The Great London Mystery , qu'il a écrit, réalisé et joué.
