A Macedonian Insurgent Band on the March

(Under the leadership of Tvantcho Quevqueliisky).

The idea of this picture was to produce a portrait likeness of each member of this famous band, and permission of the Commander was given to have his followers march towards and past the camera in single file. The brave bearing of each man, the resolute expressions of their faces as well as their peculiar uniforms lend themselves to the picturesque aspect of this subject. The last section depicts a group of the band surrounding their leader who is seen discussing the contents of a despatch with his lieutenant.
