Cattle Fording Stream
1
Cattle Fording Stream
Shows a herd of 300 head of cattle being driven across the River Platte. Five cowboys mounted on horses are forcing them across the stream. The fording place is narrow and the current of the stream very swift at this point, so that it is with great difficulty the wild cattle are kept to the crossing. They rush back and forth through the water, throwing up immense quantities of spray. They finally emerge on the bank nearest the audience and then pass directly in front of the camera. The scene is full of action and the photograph was made at close quarters, showing animals life size. This is an exceptionally good subject and should prove very attractive.
